Alpha Lipoic Acid - Anyone else try it?

I’ve weaned off of all medications recently to determine whether I’ve improved slightly or if the meds are just working.

Well, I can honestly say my meds weren’t doing a whole lot anymore (lyrica and nortryptiline) so I quit them.

Since I recently read a study of patients with diabetic neuropathy getting relief from nerve pain from 600mg’s daily of ALA, I’m giving it a shot. $30 for 3 months worth on amazon, what have I got to lose?

Apparently it takes 3 weeks for full effect. Here’s a study

I can honestly say that for the past day I’ve had far less stabbing, pins and needles nerve sensations. Will it last or is it just a total coincidence?

So far, it might be helping me, so if you suffer from neuropathic pain, you might benefit.

I tried it. Probably the single most effective “vitamin” I took. It wasn’t amazing but it did seem to help. I don’t take it anymore

How did it work out for you?

10% CBD oil and serrapeptase works best for me. Took a lot of pains away, still take it to this day

I started taking Nerve Shield (which contains Alpha Lipoic Acid) about a year ago. I’ve been doing many different non-invasive therapies, so it’s hard to pinpoint which one has done the most work for me, but after 2-1/2 years, my pains have been at bay for most of the past 6 months. I think this is a good one for all of us with a nerve component to our PVPS.
